This gig was also very special because I figured out that those small holes in our new camera were for a microphone (!) and that I could record both video and audio with a handheld Nikon Coolpix. Anyway, here is the fruit of that discovery.
Marta seems to like music class. When the music teacher showed up, she ran up to her and gave her a big hug.
This song is about a "päkapikk" (elf). Every night over the past few weeks, Marta has put out a slipper, and every morning, the elf has brought her a piece of candy or chocolate. One morning it seemed that the elf had forgot, but it just turned out that chocolate was very deep inside the slipper, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, the teacher, Pille, brought her guitar, but it was too cold to play outdoors and it was going out of tune, so she decided to improvise instead:
This song is about snow. "lumi, lumi, lumi ... lumi on maas" means "snow, snow, snow ... snow is on the ground." If you look closely you can see Anna taking part in the festivities. Obviously, it's hard to play Jean-Luc Godard with a pocketsized digital camera, but I did my best:
