is someone having a baby?

Marta has a unique way of looking at the world. One idea that she has embraced is that ambulances exist for one purpose -- to ferry pregnant ladies to the hospital to deliver their babies.

In New York last weekend, we passed a lot of ambulances making their way at full speed with sirens roaring down the city streets. Each time, Marta would yell into the crowds, "SOMEBODY'S HAVING A BABY!"

Tonight, though, I didn't feel too good and I went to the emergency room. I'm fine, and on antibiotics now, but Marta asked my mom if I was having a baby. She explained to Marta that boys can't have babies. I didn't go in an ambulance, though, so I guess to Marta it all still made sense.
