I took a nice stroll with Maria Leena in Setomaa over the weekend. It's a beautiful part of the country, rugged and wild. She fell asleep half way, surprising given we walked across a bumpy field. I like these moments with her. She is just becoming aware of nature. She stares at trees, at streams, at our pet bunnies. And she doesn't have to wear a hat! Think about it. This girl was born in September. Other than trips to Egypt and San Diego (and what a lucky kid she is!) Maria has never really been outside without a hat.
